another apron project

this is one of  my favorite aprons--I made it for my Mom for Christmas, it is purchased fabric, frayed edge details, lined with contrast fabric and antique buttons from my Grandmother

using my new apron

so--my new apron, with my very own art printed on Spoonflower fabric, got a good work out preparing Christmas dinner for 21  Parker family members.

finished product

the final steps

dollar store idea ....

using an existing potholder (sold 2/$1) rip the seam binding, these were huge stitches and took about one minute, then cut fabric of your choice--I used my Spoonflower "dancing girl"  and re-attach the binding.  I did hand-baste before the final attach so the fabric wouldn't move.

lots of spoons--lots of fun!

so this really was a fun and very quick project--I used all of the inserts that came with my wood burner--just played and made designs on wooden spoons from the dollar store.

using previously painted papers, stamps, cut-outs, gold embossing powder

art on background

this is a drawing and watercolor on one of the backgrounds.

making backgrounds....

I read that when time is limited or energy is low, just make backgrounds for future art creations.  I am using a book I found for free in a library discard.  Mostly using acrylic paints.

finished apron using my own art and spoonflower

I might add more pockets--
