update on rockstar boro shirt from first of the year
As requested by my artist friend Barbara, here is an update of the Rockstar Boro project from the Jan 4 and Dec. 24 posts. I added gold silk to cover up the brown polyester shoulder lining (top photo) and added a few patches to the sleeves and pocket areas where the shirt was thin. .....I am wearing the shirt and loving it. The idea of the Rockstar Boro project was from Melanie Testa. You might want to check out her blog and website.

altered couture--lace and gauze
these are 2 blouses that I wasn't wearing anymore, one was a thrift store purchase in the late 80's or so....sure good I don't throw things away! hahaha!! need to get antique cluny lace tomorrow and will add long sleeves/cuffs and lace across the upper seam.
the final hurray!!
the UNI is starting back soon and my days of leisure, art, yoga and freedom are coming to a close--so my goals this week were to sew something altered couture style and get this piece framed and matted. I still want to get some spoonflower fabric printed--working on that.......but here is the framed piece and one close-up. It really looks good on the wall. Rusted cotton, antique buttons, embroidery.
